Members of the Shenandoah Lodge attended the Fall Convention of the Iowa Elks Association on the weekend of November 6th and 7th. The convention was held at the Airport Holiday Inn Convention Center in Des Moines. The Grand Exalted Ruler Ron Hicks and First Lady Nancy were in attendance. There were numerous training opportunities for all officers and members. Membership, again was a central focus with “Getting the Word Out” as a common theme. We need to let communities know, that the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have contributed close to one Billion dollars within the last ten years to our communities! That total includes, not only monetary donations, but also volunteer time and mileage! As ALWAYS, Elks Care – Elks Share! We need to always, “Seize the Opportunities”!

Once again this year the Lodge will team up with Doug Meyer Chevrolet and provide toys for area youth.
We will again, be trying to fill up a truck at Doug Meyer Chevrolet with toys and of course accepting monetary donations to purchase toys as well! Toys and donations can be dropped off at the Doug Meyer Chevrolet dealership on south Highway 59 in Shenandoah.
We appreciate all the support that was given last year!
The parents that received gifts for their young ones, ALL expressed their appreciation for this project!
Toys for Girls & Boys donated Christmas gifts in Shenandoah, IA and surrounding area last year. We helped 224 kids in the area have a better Christmas. We encourage you to visit the website listed below for more information. We will be posting more information and updates as Christmas quickly approaches!
Again, as always we very much appreciate your support for this and all Lodge projects in support of our youth and Veterans!
